Solace’s never been further away than now that term time is coming to an end. Enters its last round of hardcore assignments and brutal deadlines. And, contrary to Star Trek's Scotty, I’m afraid, my cosplay as a miracle worker has been rather hit-and-miss lately.
I can barely wait to resume my routine, start cooking again, de-mummify the books I am yet to read, cut down on the expensive late-night drives back home and the everlasting all-nighter weekends…
On a good note, I managed to finish Deep Space 9 and have just begun Star Trek: Voyager. I have loved it so far; it’s a good mix of the darker themes from DS9 and the roguish explorer spirit from the first two series in the franchise.
Speaking of series, I’m also having a lot of fun with the new season of Taskmaster. Its cast is amazing, and eye candy for bisexuals like me. Besides, Never did I think I would turn up my nose at racial harmony. Yes, I’m still cracking up at this dialogue. Sorry. And that is not even the best joke of the season!
I have also been on a lucky streak with YouTube’s algorithm. Just the way I like it, it’s showered me with unhinged new music from all over the world. Talk about a global village coffeehouse!
Currently reading: nearly finished with an epistolary anthology of Oscar Wilde. De Profundis wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Other than that, so many scientific papers. Send help 😭
